About The NMS Security Internship Program

This program will include classroom and extensive on-the-job training. Interns will learn how to perform our various services, including patrol, access control, emergency response, and more. Interns will have an opportunity to put their classroom training to work and enhance their skills through on the job training at select North Slope contracts, shadowing Senior security officers. At the end of the program, successful candidates will be eligible for full-time hire as an NMS security guard.

Phase 1 | Duration: 2 Weeks

The first phase is Anchorage-based and will include classroom and online training as well as ½ day job shadowing at local security contracts.

Phase 2 | Duration: 2 Weeks*

The second phase will include a two-week training on Alaska’s North Slope in Greater Prudhoe Bay. Travel, room, and board will be provided.

Phase 3 | Duration: 2 Weeks*

Phase three will resume in Anchorage.

Phase 4 | Duration: 2 Weeks*

The fourth and final phase will be a two-week training session at ConocoPhillip’s Alpine camp. Travel, room, and board will be provided. The final phase will consist of one week of ETT training and one week of firearms training.

* Phases 2, 3 & 4 may be interchangeable in the schedule if necessary to maximize already scheduled training courses in Anchorage or to accommodate operational concerns and to ensure different exposures.
